Entertaining SpacesEntertaining Spaces

The owners of this garden wanted space to entertain outdoors.

Two connecting outdoor rooms were created – one for lounging and the other for dining – each with its own atmosphere, created by planting.

Commissioned via and built by Hillier Landscapes.

This house in the South Downs National Park sits in an elevated position with a south-facing front garden. The owners wanted improved access to the front door, no lawn and some decorative planting to improve how the house sits in its plot.

Barn ConversionBarn Conversion

This barn conversion sits on a half acre plot with far reaching views to the surrounding countryside. The design divided this blank canvas into a series of connected spaces, each with a different atmosphere. Views of the surrounding countryside are provided from key points of the house and garden.

RHS Edible GardenThe RHS Edible Garden

The RHS Edible Garden was commissioned by the RHS for the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2011. Designed with Jon Wheatley, the garden covered nearly half an acre and presented a wide range of edible and end-use plants in a series of ‘scenes’ including a lavender and olive grove, a natural pond and foraging area and a fruit, flower and vegetable garden. It was judged to gold standard.
